Usage & Billing

Every request your proxy function handles counts as one invocation. Your plan includes a monthly invocation allowance, and this page explains how that works, what happens when you go over, and how to track your usage.

Included Invocations Per Plan

PlanMonthly Invocations Included

Pro5,000

These invocations are shared across all proxy functions in your organization.

How Overage Billing Works

EnvManager uses a soft limit model. Reaching your plan's included invocations does not immediately stop your proxies from working. Instead:

  1. Requests continue to be accepted past your limit
  2. Overage usage is tracked and billed at the end of the billing period
  3. A 10x safety valve is in place -- if your usage reaches 10 times your plan's included amount, requests are blocked until the next billing period or until you upgrade

For example, on the Free plan (500 included invocations), the safety valve triggers at 5,000 invocations. On the Pro plan (5,000 included), the safety valve triggers at 50,000 invocations.

The 10x safety valve protects you from unexpected charges due to runaway scripts or abuse. If you anticipate legitimate high usage, upgrade your plan before hitting the cap.

Viewing Your Usage

You can monitor your current invocation usage from the billing settings page.

Go to Settings

Click your organization name or avatar, then select Settings.

Open the Billing Tab

Click the Billing tab in the settings sidebar.

Review Proxy Usage

The billing page shows:

  • Invocations used this billing period
  • Invocations included in your current plan
  • A usage bar showing how close you are to your limit
  • Overage invocations if applicable

What Counts as an Invocation

Each incoming HTTP request to a proxy endpoint counts as one invocation, regardless of:

  • Whether the request succeeds or fails
  • The size of the request or response
  • Which proxy function handles it

Requests rejected by rate limiting (429 Too Many Requests) still count as invocations.

Upgrading for More Invocations

If you are regularly hitting your plan limit, upgrading gives you more included invocations and raises the safety valve ceiling.

Go to Billing Settings

Navigate to Settings > Billing.

Click Upgrade

Click the Upgrade Plan button and follow the checkout flow.

Your new limits apply immediately

Once payment is confirmed, your plan limits update right away. Any overage from the current period is reflected in your next invoice.

Tips for Reducing Invocations

If you are on the Free or Pro plan and want to stay within your limit:

  • Enable rate limiting on high-traffic proxies to cap per-minute usage (see Rate Limiting)
  • Review the Analytics Dashboard to identify which proxies use the most invocations
  • Avoid calling proxies from automated scripts or bots unless that traffic is intentional
